More about Kelim Cushions
A Kelim cushion begins its life as a Kelim, a flatwoven rug without pile that nomadic and village families wove for their own daily use. The front of our cushions comes from the boldest sections of old Kelim pieces from Persia; the back is jute and cotton. They come in 40 × 40, 50 × 50 and 65 × 65 cm and are supplied without filling.
Frequently asked questions about Kelim Cushions
Do the cushions come with filling?
No, our Kelim cushions are sent without filling. That way you can choose the inner pad that suits your sofa.
What is a Kelim cushion made of?
The front comes from an old, handwoven Kelim, usually of sheep’s wool; the back is a blend of jute and cotton.
Is every cushion one of a kind?
Yes. Each front comes from a different Kelim, so every cushion exists exactly once.
Can I wash a Kelim cushion?
We don’t recommend machine washing, as it can distort the weave. For heavy soiling, professional cleaning is the best option.
