Senneh is the old name of Sanandaj, a town in the Kurdish highlands of Persia. The rugs made here and in the surrounding villages still bear this name today. The all-over Mahi pattern is common: those finely aligned fish shapes, often arranged around a generous central field. A Senneh rug stands for the Kurdish knotting tradition: finely worked and clearly drawn. The hand-spun wool often shows Abrash, the quiet play of shades that gives each piece the signature of its region. When you look at a Senneh, you are looking at a craft that the people of this mountain landscape have carried on for generations, a design that has no need of trends.

This rug measures 200 × 138 cm and works well in a living room. It comes in beige and features an all-over pattern; the border is blue. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% virgin wool. Rugs of this quality typically have 250,000 to 360,000 knots per square metre. It is over 100 years old, which makes it an antique piece.

In the living room, a beige rug forms a light island that anchors the seating; the coffee table stands fully on it and the sofa sits flush.

With the AR Visualizer, you can place this rug in your room to scale before you order and see how it looks.
