Nasrabad is a place in central Persia, and its rugs bear the signature of the farming families who knot them, people whose roots reach back to the nomadic Gashgai. Every knot carries this origin forward: usually everything is arranged around an elongated medallion, surrounded by floral tendrils and small animal figures of the kind the Gashgai have carried into their patterns for generations. What sets the Nasrabad apart among nomadic and village rugs is the calm harmony between colour and drawing, and the careful hand behind it. Traditionally, its palette moves within warm reds, blues and creams. Where the wool is hand-spun, it shifts gently in the light. This lively Abrash is not a flaw but the fingerprint of genuine handwork.

This runner measures 395 × 80 cm and works well in a hallway or kitchen. It comes in beige and red and features a central medallion; the border is blue. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% cotton. Rugs of this quality typically have 250,000 to 360,000 knots per square metre. It is between 20 and 50 years old.

A beige runner makes the hallway bright and spacious; leave a hand's width of floor free on both sides, or better still, two.

With the AR Visualizer, you can place this runner in your room to scale before you order and see how it looks.
