The Djadjim is a special kind of flatweave: instead of being made in one piece, it is created from narrow, hand-woven strips that are then sewn together into a larger surface. This technique is kept alive by the nomads of Persia (tribes such as the Shahsavan, Gashgai and Bakhtiari), who made the Djadjim on narrow looms that could easily be carried along with the herd. Characteristic are fine, lengthwise stripes and small, closely lined-up motifs that form a calm rhythm across the strips. Traditionally, the Djadjim served as a blanket, a throw or a wrapping for a family's belongings. Where the wool was hand-spun and dyed with natural dyes, the colours shift in the Abrash, that lively irregularity which makes a nomadic weaving an original.

This flatweave measures 150 × 97 cm and works well in a hallway, kitchen or entrance area. It comes in a mix of colours and features a striped pattern; the border is multicoloured too. It is flat-woven, with no pile; the material is 100% virgin wool. It is between 20 and 50 years old.

A colourful flatweave makes the hallway cheerful; plain walls let its stripes and patterns shine.

With the AR Visualizer, you can place this flatweave in your room to scale before you order and see how it looks.
