The Gabbeh Sonnat stands for the inherited, original way of knotting a Gabbeh, as Persian nomads have done for generations. It is worked with a high pile and mostly with hand-spun, lanolin-rich wool, which gives the rug its grainy, tactile surface and pleasant warmth; it is no coincidence that these rugs once served as bedding. The imagery remains clear and stylised: goats, camels, dogs, plants, now and then a human figure. These are motifs from a life between herd and pasture. Strong tones, traditionally from plant dyes, sit alongside calm cream, brown and grey. And where the colour shifts slightly, Abrash appears, the natural trace of hand-spun wool and a sign that this rug was knotted in the old tradition, without shortcuts.

This Gabbeh runner measures 170 × 81 cm and works well in a hallway, kitchen or entrance area. It comes in a mix of colours and features a pattern divided into panels; the border is beige. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% virgin wool. Gabbeh of this quality typically have 90,000 to 250,000 knots per square metre.

A colourful Gabbeh runner makes the hallway cheerful; plain walls let its colours shine.
