Kordibaf is the name given to the rugs knotted by Kurdish tribes in north-eastern Persia, a people whose weaving art is as distinctive as their history. Instead of floral playfulness, these rugs speak a clearly geometric language: hooks, lozenges and stepped forms, set in strong colours that recall the old pattern world of the Caucasus. A strict, self-assured order that never feels cold: every field seems knotted from memory, not copied. Where the wool is hand-spun, the colour sometimes drifts gently across the surface; this Abrash is part of its character. A Kordibaf is a modern classic: geometric, down-to-earth and made for a home with a signature of its own.

This rug measures 341 × 214 cm. It comes in red and features a central medallion; the border is red too. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% virgin wool. Rugs of this quality typically have 160,000 to 360,000 knots per square metre. It is between 20 and 50 years old.

A red rug warms any room; with pale walls and dark wood it becomes the calm anchor of the interior.
