Around Hamadan in western Persia lies one of the most productive knotting landscapes in the country: village after village, each with its own signature. Hosseinabad is one of them. What people knot here comes from everyday life: playful floral and geometric motifs that tell of life among fields, farmsteads and workshops. Over generations, each village has developed its own repertoire of forms and its own world of colour: in Hosseinabad, often warm, strong tones on a calm ground. The work is often done with hand-spun wool, and that is precisely where the appeal lies: the Abrash, the subtle shimmer of colour, shows that this pattern came not from a machine but from the hand. A Hosseinabad is not a showpiece but a warm-hearted storyteller from a village that speaks its own language.

This rug measures 94 × 56 cm and works well in a hallway, kitchen or entrance area. It comes in blue and features an all-over pattern; the border is red. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% cotton. Rugs of this quality typically have 160,000 to 250,000 knots per square metre.

A blue rug gives the hallway calm and depth; with a hand's width of space to the walls it looks tidy rather than cramped.

With the AR Visualizer, you can place this rug in your room to scale before you order and see how it looks.
