Rizbaf is the refined relative in the Gabbeh family: more densely knotted, with a higher knot count and a lower pile than the classic Gabbeh. It stands in the tradition of nomadic weavers and is often made from hand-spun wool, which gives the surface its lively, grainy texture, and yet it stays soft and pleasant under bare feet, as if made for rooms where you live barefoot. This fineness allows more design: alongside calm, single-coloured natural tones, lively compositions emerge with stylised animals, plants, whole landscapes and geometric motifs from nomadic daily life. In this way the Rizbaf combines the earthiness of the Gabbeh with a clearer drawing. Where hand-spun wool lets the colour play slightly from row to row (this Abrash), it remains here, too, the honest mark of genuine knotting craft.

This Gabbeh measures 153 × 73 cm and works well in a hallway, kitchen or entrance area. It features a plain field in beige; the border is multicoloured. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% virgin wool. Gabbeh of this quality typically have 250,000 to 490,000 knots per square metre.

In the hallway, a beige Gabbeh feels light and soft; leave a hand's width of floor free all round.

With the AR Visualizer, you can place this Gabbeh in your room to scale before you order and see how it looks.
