Mashad, the large city in north-eastern Persia in the Khorasan region, looks back on a knotting tradition that reaches back to the 16th century. Over the centuries an urban craft has grown here in which fine, carefully worked patterns became the hallmark. A Mashad rug is made entirely by hand, knot by knot, and carries within it the design language of a city that has shaped knotting into a cultural heritage over generations. The designs are clearly composed and live from the precision of experienced hands: fine details you only fully take in at second glance. Choosing a Mashad means bringing home not just any décor but a piece of Persian knotting history, grown in a place where this craft has been at home for centuries.

This rug measures 332 × 258 cm and works well in a living room, dining room or bedroom. It comes in red and features a central medallion; the border is blue. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% cotton. Rugs of this quality typically have 250,000 to 360,000 knots per square metre.

In the living room, a red rug becomes a warm island that anchors the seating; the coffee table stands fully on it and the sofa sits flush.

With the AR Visualizer, you can place this rug in your room to scale before you order and see how it looks.
