The Indjelass rug comes from the south of Hamadan province in western Persia, an area where hundreds of villages keep their own knotting tradition alive. What defines the Indjelass is its delight in pattern: often the fine Herati pattern or floral motifs on a red ground, knotted with care and a steady hand so that every surface gains its own rhythm. It is worked in sturdy wool that stands up to the detailed drawing while staying warm underfoot. The palette traditionally ranges from warm earth tones to stronger shades and gives the patterns depth. Where hand-spun wool has been used, Abrash is part of it too: the quiet life in the colour that sets a hand-knotted Indjelass apart from any copy.

This rug measures 301 × 207 cm and works well in a living room, dining room or bedroom. It comes in red and features an all-over pattern; the border is beige. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% cotton. Rugs of this quality typically have 160,000 to 250,000 knots per square metre. It is between 20 and 50 years old.

In the living room, a red rug becomes a warm island that anchors the seating; the coffee table stands fully on it and the sofa sits flush.

With the AR Visualizer, you can place this rug in your room to scale before you order and see how it looks.
