In the borderland between Persia and Afghanistan live the Belutch, various nomadic tribes of different origins who live from farming, rug knotting and the breeding of sheep, goats and camels. Their rugs are closely related to Afghan and Turkmen knotted work and carry a sense of genuine nomadic handwork. Typical are strong side edges, often of goat hair, and a short wool pile in earthy tones: dark brown, rust, red, blue and black. Geometric all-over patterns, stylised blossoms and often a Gul, an octagonal tribal motif, run across the field. Belutch are mostly knotted in smaller sizes and are dense yet thin and flexible. Traditionally they often served as prayer rugs. Where the wool is hand-spun, Abrash is part of the very nature of these rugs and brings their muted colours to life.

This rug measures 176 × 100 cm and works well in a bedroom, hallway or kitchen. It comes in beige and features a pictorial motif; the border is red. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% virgin wool. Rugs of this quality typically have 160,000 to 250,000 knots per square metre. It is between 20 and 50 years old.

Under or in front of the bed, a beige rug calms the room; linen, pale wood and muted tones go well with it.
