The Gabbeh Sonnat stands for the inherited, original way of knotting a Gabbeh, as Persian nomads have done for generations. It is worked with a high pile and mostly with hand-spun, lanolin-rich wool, which gives the rug its grainy, tactile surface and pleasant warmth; it is no coincidence that these rugs once served as bedding. The imagery remains clear and stylised: goats, camels, dogs, plants, now and then a human figure. These are motifs from a life between herd and pasture. Strong tones, traditionally from plant dyes, sit alongside calm cream, brown and grey. And where the colour shifts slightly, Abrash appears, the natural trace of hand-spun wool and a sign that this rug was knotted in the old tradition, without shortcuts.

This Gabbeh measures 203 × 152 cm and works well in a living room. It comes in beige and features a striped pattern; the border is brown. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% cotton. Gabbeh of this quality typically have 90,000 to 250,000 knots per square metre.

In the living room, a beige Gabbeh becomes a calm island that anchors the seating; the coffee table stands fully on it.
