The Nahavand comes from the town of the same name in the Hamadan knotting region of western Persia, one of the country’s great knotting regions. What makes it special: almost every place here cultivates its own signature, and so Nahavand, too, produces its own charming motifs. Sometimes floral, sometimes geometric patterns, often on a red, blue or beige ground, designs handed down from one generation to the next. Behind every Nahavand are people who draw their skill from the everyday life of their community. Where the wool is hand-spun, the colour sometimes drifts across the surface in gentle shades. This Abrash is part of the village character of the Nahavand and brings it to life. A rug that tells of place, people and tradition.

This rug measures 208 × 142 cm and works well in a living room. It comes in beige and features a central medallion; the border is blue. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% cotton. Rugs of this quality typically have 250,000 to 360,000 knots per square metre.

In the living room, a beige rug forms a light island that anchors the seating; the coffee table stands fully on it and the sofa sits flush.

With the AR Visualizer, you can place this rug in your room to scale before you order and see how it looks.
