West of Marrakesh, in the Chichaoua region, rugs of strong presence are made that bear the name of the region. They are traditionally knotted by the women of the local tribes, who draw on their skill without a template, from memory and from tradition. Typical is the deep red palette and an archaic wealth of patterns: geometric symbols and abstracted trees of life that are far more than decoration. They speak of fertility, protection and the course of life. Robust sheep's wool is used, giving the Chichaoua its hearty texture. Where it is hand-spun and dyed with natural dyes, Abrash arises, the lively shimmer of the red that marks a Chichaoua as the genuine craft of its weavers.

This rug measures 415 × 195 cm and works well in a living room or dining room. It is hand-knotted, with a pile of 100% virgin wool and a foundation of 100% virgin wool.

In the living room, the rug anchors the seating; the coffee table stands fully on it, the sofa sits flush or slightly overlaps it.

With the AR Visualizer, you can place this rug in your room to scale before you order and see how it looks.
